Cry of Fear is a first person shooter survival horror game created by Team Psykskallar, this game was originally made as a custom mod for Half Life but now the game is available on steam as a free standalone game.

The story contains 7 to 8 chapters and how it ends depends on the player actions. you will take the role of Simon Henirksson a 19 year old who will find himself in a dark alley after got hit by a car, when Simon wakes up he receive a message from his mother that its dark and he must return to home thats where Simon journey start.

During game play you will encounter puzzles that need to be solved and fighting crazed, unknown  monsters, and every time you advance in the story Simon will receives a flashbacks telling what happen after the accident.

 The game features many unique mechanisms like limited inventory where the player will only have 6 slots for items and when opening the inventory the game will not pause.

 

Another mechanisms is the dual-wield where the player will have the ability to use two weapons in the at a time, or holding weapon in one hand and a flashlight in another.

Amnesia The Dark Descent

Imagine waking up in a dark abandon castle without remembering anything about your self, your name, your family, your home all have been forgotten and you have no idea where are you.
Amnesia is a FPS survival horror game by Frictional games  it was released for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS.

In this game you will play as a young man from London called Danial who wakes up in the halls of the Prussain Brennenburg Castle with no memory about himself  or his past, the only thing that he remembers is his name, that he is lives in Mayfair and something is hunting him. when Danial wakes up he found a letter that he erased his memory and that he needs to go deep into the Sanctum of the castle to kill the Baron Alexander. Through the journey he starts remembering about himself through the notes he left in the castle and flashbacks from his life events.

The game uses the same physical object interactions in Penumbra which is a similar game to Amnesia allowing the player to interact with all objects such as opening doors and repairing mechanics.

Things that can interact with

In the game the player wont use any weapons if the monster spoted the player he will chase him until he is out of sight so the only way is to run and hide from him and the help of darkness the player will have the chance to find a hiding spot.

Hiding from the shadow

The game graphics are amazing and atmosphere is so scary that it will try to prevent the player from playing the game and and what make things worse is the shadow that chase you that waits in every corner of the dark castle.

So if you lover of survival horror games that if full of puzzles and up to a challenge then this game is suitable for you.
